The Fire Academy and Training School in Wungu near Walewale in the North East Region is Ghana’s second fire service training school since independence. It was commissioned on January 19, 2024 by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia School Facilities and PurposeLocation: Wungu, near Walewale in the West Mamprusi Municipality.Infrastructure: Includes a three-storey administration block, classrooms, male and female dormitories, and a dining hall.Equipment: Outfitted with modern gear, including high-reach hydraulic platforms.Training Focus: Handles training for fire prevention, rescue operations, evacuation, hazardous materials management, and bushfire control.
